Home insurance claim rejected
Hi,
We have a failed shower pan that resulted in some mold on the adjacent wall and required removal and replacement of tile in the shower and the bathroom floor.
We filed a claim with our insurance and was rejected considering this as a long term incident and wear and tear of the shower pan.
Two of our neighbors have the same problem and while their insurance policies didn’t cover the shower pan (considered wear and tear), their insurance covered replacement of the tile and removal of the mold. In the neighbors case, what part of the policy covers the tile replacement (I want to see if similar terms in our policy are applicable and will have us covered for the tile replacement).
