Adequate Insurance Coverage?
The insurance I currently have on my rental has the 'NAMED INSURED' listed as the Property Manager and then my name is listed as an 'ADDITIONAL INSURED'.
When I questioned this, the explanation was so the property management could operate on my behalf. In the event of an emergency, or claim filed, the PM could deal with the insurance agency and not have to have me as the middle man.
Does this seem right?
Because the insurance is set up this way, I cannot get an umbrella policy.
Thanks for any insight.
