I was trying to figure out what things having a job while investing gives you instead of being self employed and I was curious about health insurance. If I were to quit my job and no longer have their health insurance, what would I need to do get get my own and how much would it generally cost, and which company/ organization typically is best?

@Tanner Neils

You basically need to buy private insurance. While Obamacare is around, the rates are supposed to be more transparent. There are the state-specific marketplaces to look. You should be able to get a quote online since they can’t charge for pre-existing conditions and the like...

That’s the short of it I suppose. All in all, it’s still not easy since this country is so employer-based healthcare. It really should be more like buying car insurance...

Good luck
