Personal vs commercial for LLC

Ryan Bird
Posted

Question for BP members regarding the right umbrella insurance for LLC owner rental properties. I have a primary residence in my name and a rental property under LLC's name.

I have a personal umbrella with my name as name insured and llc as covered person. Also, the rental property’s address is listed under personal residences section as “rental residence”.

I’m seeing lot of discussions regarding commercial insurance so wondering if what I have today ( Looks like it’s personal umbrella) is enough to cover both llc and myself together or separately.

If not, should I be taking a commercial umbrella for LLC alone?
