Insurance Claim Process SoCal

Re: covered claim for water damage - My Ins. Co. adjuster does not evaluate. Instead, they send estimator from mitigation and resto service that they work with and then settle. While cozy and convenient, I detect potential conflicts of interest. Who is looking out for my interest? I would say neither of them. The rebuild will be cheap and shoddy at best, and they won't accept any other estimates and scope from legitimate sources. They stand firm. Do I have recourse? Thank you in advance.
