Insurance on Older Properties

I recently purchased an older home in Western NC. The home needs repairs primary exterior siding, fascia boards and trim. The interior is in very good shape considering it was built in 1930. The insurance company I’ve used on other rentals declined coverage due to the age and condition of this property. My goal is to make the needed repairs over the next three months, however, I need coverage now.

Anyone familiar with a carrier that offers landlord’s insurance along with liability coverage for older homes and is licensed in NC ? Thanks.

@Rick Klopp There are companies that will refuse to write coverage on homes based on their age. Are you working with an independent agent? If not, my suggestion would be to find an independent agent since they will have the options necessary to obtain coverage. Here in Oklahoma, we have many carriers that would insure based on age and if it is a condition issue then there are options as well.
