Purchase inside an LLC or in personal name?

I am in the process of buying my 3rd rental property and several people have recommended putting the property into an LLC for asset protection. If I buy it in an LLC, financing becomes expensive, if I buy it in my own name, I get a better rate but I am more exposed. I am confused about how to structure this deal and future deals. Any suggestions?
