Need carrier to provide additional insurance to meet requirement in Snohomish, WA

The issue I am running into is understanding the additional insurance the law requires me to carry (in addition to AirCover). I was reading about some of the legislation passed in recent years in the area and it appears that AirCover has coverage limits that are high enough to be enough on its' own, however, my insurance broker is telling me that I do need additional coverage and that my current carrier won't cover it, so the only option is to rewrite my home/auto/umbrella with a new carrier and it may double and balloon to like $7K/yr! If I do need additional insurance, couldn't I just go through a different company that specializes in the coverage type and just take out a separate policy? The property type is a MIL unit that is part of my home (it was previously the basement) with its' own separate entrance. It is part of the home but doesn't have access to the main part of the home.

While I haven’t run across this personally, I’m with Julien. Get another insurance agent to weigh in. ISW has been great to work with, see if they can help or offer clarity.
