Acquiring Home Owners Insurance

Breland Almadova

Aloha All,

I am currently under contract with my first real estate investment in Savannah, GA. Yahoo!!! I am in need of some advice on Home Owners Insurance. What is the best way of finding an Insurance company and/or anyone have any recommendations or know of any great local Savannah insurance agents? Also, Would it be a good idea to consider using the same insurance company my parents use for their homes (located in Hawaii)? I will be house hacking this home, renting 2 of 3 bedrooms. It’s a 1,054ft house on a 6,011ft lot. Ready to move in home with a renovated kitchen.

Thank you in advance for everyones help and suggestions. Mahalo!

Hey Breland, congrats on your first house hack! Sounds like an awesome plan. I've had good luck with finding a local insurance broker that can shop multiple policies for you. Make sure you tell them your plan of renting out extra rooms so they can include this in their search.
