Any States Against Wholesaling?

Hi BP, I was wondering if there are any states, cities, or areas where they are completely against wholesaling? I understand that it is looked down upon in general by some but are there any areas where it is deemed illegal or where it is made extremely difficult to close the deal or make it worth closing the deal? The reason I ask is because I read a post a little while ago on here where somebody stated Ohio was supposedly taking action against these types of deals (wholesale). I also saw somebody mention something about it being hard in California. It could have been false, but I was just wondering if there was any truth to it? Are there any states where there are additional expenses associated with closing your standard wholesale deal?

Since most wholesalers aren't represented by an agent/broker, this is an excellent point to consider. That said, slightly deviating from the topic for the sake of knowledge, let me throw this out there...

In Wisconsin, there is a law that also says you're not allowed to sell more than 5 properties in a year without being licensed. After speaking with several prominent attorneys and also talking directly to the real estate commission, everyone seems to agree that as long as you are represented by a licensed broker for your transactions, you can sell as many houses as you like without being licensed.

The law is horribly written in Wisconsin (leading a lot of people to believe you're not allowed to sell more than 5 properties even with a broker), but as all the attorneys we spoke with said, prohibiting people from selling as many properties as they'd like is a violation of basic rights, and likely wouldn't hold up in court if anyone tried to challenge.

I'm not challenging anything Rob said...just wanted to add more info in case anyone cared...
