The journey to my first wholesale.

My wholesaling journey started with the Eric Thomas podcast where Jamal was talking about house hacking, generational wealth, and a lifestyle I want to live. I already had a fire in me but, listening to that gave me direction. Six months later and I get a job as an Amazon delivery driver. A month later I finally save enough for his course and to start REI investing. I was ecstatic because I had finally saved 1,000 for the first time and bought the course. While I was driving I watched the videos and when I got home took notes on everything. Next month rolls around and I complete the course and we get a certificate for completion. I then posted it on Instagram and a ton of people sent over some love. My big brother dm's saying, "did you pay for a course." I told him, "yes." He started to bust my chops on why I didn't inform anyone about paying for a course. After, the big brother talk he advises me to check out BiggerPockets. He sends me the podcast, website, and app. Several months go by I'm studying flashcards, listen to all RE rookies podcast, all BP daily, books, and up to 168 ep of BP RE podcast. The new year rolls around and I was still stuck in analysis paralysis. Until then, my other brother Ben told me to stop talking about it be about it. My stimulus came in the mail that same day. And that's when I knew it was time to jump. I watch Brent Danials help Alana get her first deal. So, I took everything he told her to do and I did it. Practice the script, got DealMachine, Podio, and drove for dollars. Fifteen quality conversations, two hundred houses a week, and practicing the script 35 times was the goal. I started calling on January 18 and a week later I had 2 appointments, made 351 calls already, added 423 properties, and talked to some realtors. I'm saying all of this to bring you all to my first wholesale deal journey.
