Wholesale in California or out of state

I’m just wondering does anyone have an experience of wholesaling in California or would my best options be out of state , I’m brand new and I have a general understanding of wholesale, but I’m still working on trying to get my first deal , ready to change my life if anyone could have any tips or any kind of help it would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance
