Why I are a lot of people against wholesaling?

It seems like so many people (mainly agents) are against wholesaling. Everyone is demanding regulation and licensing for which I believe is the right call! What upsets me is wholesalers are just middle men the outsource RE opportunities to cash buyers! This country was built on middle man! You have all of these people that wholesale product/services but when it comes to Real Estate people get sensitive!

I don’t believe it’s right to steal people’s equity and I don’t think it’s right to deceive the seller. From the moment I get on the phone or face to face I am as transparent as possible! I think licensing would weed out those type of people which is great for business!

I personally think a lot of people are are mad because the “common man” discovered a way to become financially free! If wholesaling was so illegal then why are places like Sam’s Club and BJ’s still around? Why isn’t anyone trying to ban those companies? Where is the regulation for them? They have been making a ridiculous amount of money of the public for years!

To sum it up, yes I will get a license to continue to wholesale and put my family in the best situation I can! I think everyone should be licensed when dealing with Real Estate! It seems more places are starting to crack down on it! Just don’t sit here and downplay wholesaling and not go address other corporations who have been doing it for years! Stop getting mad because the public figured out they don’t have to remain broke and can change their financial situation through sourcing Real Estate opportunities!

You set up a couple straw-man arguments that nobody is actually making. Nothing about anti-wholesaler energy is about preventing "the common man" from being financially free.  Also, Wholesaling in real estate also has nothing to do with bulk-selling retail goods like Costco or Sam's Club.

For me its just the constant dumb aggressive (and frequently illegal) marketing they have to use to find deals. I am getting spammed to high heaven from every nitwit wholesaler who ever heard of Columbus Ohio.  I also see them on here cheering eachother on to keep spamming, ignore the "haters."   They are getting theirs so F everyone else, right?

Plus there are just SO MANY WHOLESALERS now.  The sheer number of them all over the market like ants means there are going to be a bunch that are just total slimeballs.  Since its a grey market without any regulation the unethical behavior flourishes.

Its also ground zero for clueless newbies. They get into boondoggles where they can't actually close and just waste the sellers time, and for investors like me their ARVs and repair estimates are often ridiculous. They also play games with hiding addresses and being catty about details or their own identities because they know what they are doing is sketchy and they are middlemen easily cut out. Its just a fishy business all around.
