Wholesalers working with agents?

Hi BP! I am still somewhat new to wholesaling and the possibility of working with a real estate agent. Are there any wholesalers or investors who have worked with real estate agents to help find properties and/or make offers on properties listed on the MLS? If so, how was your experience? Did you get push back from the agent or refusal to present the offer because it was low? I have actually had a situation in which the agent advised that I would have to pay them in addition to the commission, just to submit the offer as they felt that it would not be accepted. Is this common? Let me know your thoughts or experiences and I appreciate any feedback you may have.
