Selecting GCs to estimate repair costs

Terrenze Walker
Posted

I’ve been driving for dollars and I located properties that have the potential to be deals. I’ve thought about googling GCs and offering them a small incentive ($50-$100) to offer me a ballpark figure that I’d be able to reference once I send the properties to my buyers. What have other’s done?

Additionally, I'm beginning with a tight budget and I'm curious as to how people locate their buyers. Ive attending 1 REI event, and have followed up with investors I met there, but where else will I be able to locate buyers?

You can run that by a GC, but be prepared for them to say no. Offering someone $50 to give you a budget on a house you don’t own, and will never own may look like a waste of their time. If you find one willing to do it, consider yourself lucky. GCs tend to spend their time providing pricing on jobs they intend to perform the work on.
