Finding Owners of a property

I believe I may have found my first property, the house has not been touch in years Im told so i go to look up the owner on my cities website. I find a name but the owner is dead. The last person to also pay taxes on the property that the city names on the city's website is also dead. The house isnt under a trust from the research that i have found and now im stuck.
