Direct message marketing

Hello BP

I have been working on my marketing strategies, to reach sellers. I have been driving for dollars and sending letters to distressed homeowners. I am doing some more research online and have found I can track people down via social media. Is it an acceptable practice to message people online to open a conversation? Ideally, I would like to get them on the phone, but finding phone numbers has been a bit difficult.

Thank you
