What if real estate agents knew about wholesaling?

If real estate agents ever discovered how wholesalers make their money, would they still bother becoming or remain agents? I know we are not suppose to let realtors get wind of how wholesalers buy and sell properties for big profits. Wholesalers and agents have quite a bit in common, except one thing.

I'd be willing to bet my house (all of them, actually) that the median income for people who decide to pursue wholesaling is $0.

Had those same individuals decided to become agents, the majority of them would likely make at least a little bit of money.

The only benefit wholesaling has (if you're not in the top 1% of wholesalers, that is), is that it can lead into more lucrative investing activities.

And to clarify, I'm exempting the top 1% of wholesalers here -- they likely make enough that wholesaling is a successful business in and of itself. But, they have business skills and personality traits that few others have.
