how to get access to mls

Question

I am about to take the plunge into real estate investing after standing on the sidelines for so many years. One avenue Im interested in is bank reos. The problem is I dont have any friends that are realtors so what kinda of proposition can I make to a realtor in ordere for him or her to allow me to access their mls. I would like to use the mls not only to look at new reos on market but to pull comps and develop buyers list continuosly by searching cash buyer and so forth

This is the advantage the agents have.  You should consider becoming a legit licensed agent and you can also access the mls.  Myself, I am an agent and I would never give out my info for someone else to access my mls as I could get in trouble if they ever found out, hefty fines.  Go become an agent and you can access the mls, otherwise find an agent who will work with you.

You could Get a buyers agent to send you email updates. Once they set it upbuou get daily emails. Use the Mls number and realtor.com to contact the listing agent directly if you want.

join the Board of Realtors and get your own MLS access, How is this done exactly without being licensed.. As for the other idea I have yet to marry so I suppose this could be an option as well. Lol. thanks fore the advice

Bill P suggested becoming a member of my countie board of realtors, so aftera little research i can become an affliate which would cost me 175 quarterly for membership. according to website this would allow me access to trend mls which im assuming is nthe mls sysyem used in my county. not really sure though. if anyone has the time tell me what you think..[url]www.nccbor.com pull membership tab than link to trend mls... look forward to hearing some feedback

The best way is to find somebody to be a buyers agent for you. I can set up a automatic search that will send any REO's that are listed directly to a buyer's e-mail inbox.  This is the best way as a really great deal will be gone within a couple of hours.  But for as for me giving a password out when I login there is a $15,000 fine warning from the MLS for sharing passwords.

There are some pretty good looking Realtors out there that may be looking for a husband!  But then again...that is a partnership that you will want to really do your due diligence on before signing the contract!

Curt is 100% correct!  Allowing someone to use your MLS access is a fine and/or suspension from using the MLS.  No one uses my access except me!

If you don't want to get licensed, join the Board of Realtors and get your own MLS access, you can look for a Realtor to work with you.  Be prepared to show the Realtor that you are serious about working with him by signing a Buyer's Agent Agreement and providing proof that you have or can get the funds to purchase.  You are asking him to do a lot of work and no one likes to work for free!
