wholesaling repair costs

Man Im really having a problem with this repair cost estimating in wholesaling realestate. I do not know how to estimate repair costs. I dont want to pay a contractor until I get the hang of it because about 1 in 30 offers will get accepted and if you do the math at about 50 dollars an estimate.......thats a lot of money. Someone recommended a cell phone app called hammer point or real eflow, but its slow and some of the terminology is unfarmiliar and it isnt very specific. I really want to get passed this mountain in my wholesale career. Any suggestions?

Wow, there's literally another thread just like this right now...

My response is the same - man up and pay a good GC to tell you what everything costs. That knowledge isn't (and shouldn't be) free of charge, and it shouldn't cost the same as a buyer's broker... asking someone to do 2 jobs for the price of 1 doesn't seem quite right to me.
