repairs
If i use a contractor to give me repair estimates, eventually i will need to pay him for his time and estimates, but is it worth it because i wouldnt want to pay him to make a repair estimate on a property that i dont even end up wholesaling?

In my opinion, if you are wholesaling and have no intention of doing any work on the property, it is unethical to get free estimates without letting the contractors know up-front that you won't actually be doing any work. Then it's up to them to decide if they still want to work for free.
