New to wholesale real estate

Hello, I am new to real estate and am extremely curious on how I may begin my journey in it. I have been reading about wholesaling and feel that it may be a good way to start. I eventually would like to move into multi family or commercial real estate but that’s way down the line. What would be the best way to start learning and beginning to market myself in wholesaling? What steps should I be taking to educate myself on how to recognize a good deal? Does anyone have a go to template or method on how they calculate their numbers to assess the deal? What are some ways to try to minimize risk in this type of real estate? Any suggestions on finding mentors into helping guide me on the right path? I appreciate any response and am excited to to start my way to a growing portfolio.
