Heirs don't live in the u.s. can I attain thru adverse possession
John Doe serve in the military and met his wife Mary Doe overseas. They came back and purchased a property and placed it in both of their names. John Doe passed away in 2010 John's aunt and nephew attempted Affidavit of heirship the same year. Only thing is Mary Doe was still alive at the time until 2013. So the affdavit is void because of the fact Mary was the rightful owner still. All of Mary's family is overseas. John Dos family is under the impression they cannot sell. The neighbor tells me they only intend to let it go to property taxes. While I wouldn't mind paying for the property who would I pay? Could I just pay taxes and living it as mine and claim adverse possession? What do I do or how can I obtain this property
