Looking for advice or a kick in the arse!

Hello BP experts. I finally received my bandit signs and I am planning on getting them out there this weekend. I got a standard purchase and sale agreement after joining Steph Davis' blog the other day. Thanks Steph.

I guess my only concern at this point is whether I should get out there and hang these signs before talking to a lawyer about this contract. I have heard of purchase agreements written on napkins holding up in local court here so not sure if my fear is warranted.

Does anyone know of any specific requirements in California that I need to worry about, or is the contract I have good enough? I can PM the contract to anyone willing to look at it and comment.

Thanks,

Michael.... just fricking do it!

By the tone of your question you sound like you are looking for an excuse to delay taking action.

Consider the process...

You post the signs...

You get one or more calls...

You start a discussion over the phone and the deal looks good enough for a face-to-face...

It is only at that time that you will need the contract... it could take weeks for you to get to that point.

And... if you are worried that the contract may contain a clause that is not appropriate to California, make sure there is a severability clause in the contract so that all the other clauses survive if one clause must be removed.

Best of luck... now get out and get a deal done!
