Looking to Option a Home

Hello to all. I'm relatively new to the real estate investing arena so please bear with me. Please no smart remarks. I'm looking to network with serious professionals.

I'm looking to put a home under option and then re-sell. I live in NC and I'd like to know if dry closings are legal here.

Has anyone done any dry closings in NC within the last year or so?

What is the general procedure in a dry closing whether in NC or anywhere else?

Thanks.
