Questions About Proper Handling of Probate Leads

Hello BP Family,

First, I know that the fiduciary is often a lawyer. Those of you who work probate leads a lot, do you expect your mailings get blown off and tossed in the trash before the next of kin actually sees it?

Second, is calling the fiduciary directly (next of kin or lawyer) bad form?

Third, is it worth the expense of mailing the next of kin directly, if I can find their actual home address AND the lawyer as well?

Fourth, I'm sure there are several answers to this but for those of you who have been doing this for a while is there anything that you find is a fairly optimal follow-up sequence with direct mail?

~Jeff

    @Renee Harris

    For Sacramento and San Francisco counties this is the webpage I use to access free probate filings.

    https://adtech.dailyjournal.com/legalAds/

    To start go to search then in category select Probate notices. For newspaper select Los Angeles Daily Journal or Daily Commerce. Then click on the blue select button.

    You can always change the date range 10-15-30 days before todays date by clicking "From".

    Then you can start browsing. Remember that this is a "free probate list".

    Yes, you can send letters to PR's. You would be looking for "In pro per" (Party without attorney).

    If you have any problems my contact info is in my BP profile.

    @Mariah Kraatz-Rimkus

    Sorry, this webpage is only accessible for CA probates.
