Extending a contract for a wholesale deal

I am a new real estate investor and I just got my first deal under contract a little over a month ago. There were some problems with the owners in the beginning of the contract which led to me not being able to show the property to some of my cash buyers. Basically, I have had the ability to show the house with 2 weeks left on the contract and I have a buyer that is interested but won't be able to come and see the property until the day of closing from the original PSA. I want to know how I go about asking for an extension, I've read some articles about amendments but don't know the process of adding one. Help would be much appreciated, the original closing date is set for this Friday the 28th. Thank you.
