Probates, question

Has anyone been successful in this? I've been to courthouses week in and week out. Been following Probates by Preston religiously and out of the thousand or so letters I've sent out, we've received only three phone calls, all dead leads. This seems like it's not worth it. If you have been successful, could you recommend if it's better just sending out yellow postcards rather than letters? I've been having success with absentee yellow postcards, but probates have been a pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
