Should I partner with an out of state wholesaler?

Hello all, I am new in the wholesaling world but have done my due diligence and have educated myself to be able to carry this out on my own. That being said... there's a wholesaler I've built a "solid" relationship with over the years on social media and this guy is doing his thing out in Texas, and it appears that he has been successful thus far. He sort of introduced me to the idea of wholesaling and I did the rest. He contacted me recently asking what my market was like and he wasted to expand to the "hottest cities in the US" awesome right? My #1 question is. Should I go for it? And if so how would we go about assigning duties, establishing pay structure between each other, etc... should I just start on my own? I feel like I would be pointless to partner with someone so far away (I'm in MA) and he would be cashing in while I'm doing all of the work... Any opinion is greatly appreciated Respectfully, Michael Ortiz
