why do multiple wholesalers have the same property?

I am on several buyers lists so that I can cast a large net to find and analyze properties, and something I notice for the FL market especially is that many of the wholesalers list the same properties.  How is this possible when I thought you have to have the home under contract to market it as a wholesale deal.  Can anyone explain this madness?

I don't know much about apples or trees or really anything @Bill Gulley is talking about, but I do know how the Central Florida wholesale market operates.

We have a group called The Alliance that all of the professional wholesalers are invited to join, in which we all market the same properties, at the same price, for the same common goal of getting the property sold. We all have a forum and marketplace with all of the property details, deal info, contact info, etc for us to pick and choose which deals our friends in the Alliance have available for sale at any given moment.

Does @Foster Algier have a great quad plex for sale in Orlando? Great, I know I have a buyer for that....send it to my buyer at the set Alliance price, put it under contract and proceed to close, and @Foster Algier and I go grab a beer to celebrate another deal done.

No sharking, no sending pretend deals, and no damn apples. Just two professionals casting a wider net into the sea of real estate and splitting the rewards.

but than again there is every other wholesaler who is NOT a part of the Alliance and I cannot speak on what those fools are doing.
