Found my first distressed home!!!

While driving for dollars this morning, I came across a house that was CLEARLY distressed, may have even been vacant. The house is in a very nice neighborhood. So step 2 of the wholesaling process is to contact the owners correct? I can start mailing them, but if the house is vacant, how am I supposed to get in contact with them?
