Wholesaling REOs and Foreclosures in Illinois

Hello BP community, so I have almost two weeks of learning the ins and outs of wholesaling. How to find vacant properties, talk to for sale by owners, etc. So today I learn that we cannot whole sale a short sale, foreclosure or REO. It is illegal to wholesale those, you must do something with the property before you sell it.

Can anyone tell me more on this?

Also, not sure if I can ask this here but if there are any wholesaling mentors in the southside of Chicago or suburbs. Please contact me so we can work on, not only expanding your business, but getting myself experience as well.
