Working with real estate agents

Hi, I was wondering if anyone that wholesales properties works along side real estate agents? My uncle is a real estate agent and I would like to work alongside him to wholesale my first couple of properties. I figured that before he puts the properties on the MLS I may be able to speak to sellers who have distressed properties and see if I can get it under contract. I figure he may also have leads for me.
