Occupant passed away and no surviving relatives
there is an abandoned house near me where the occupant passed away and she doesn't have any living relatives. What is my best course of action to find out who is carrying this house and what may come of it in these circumstances. The house is the biggest eye sore on the block and I'd love to restore it to fit in with this lovely neighborhood.

How do you know she doesn't have any living relatives? If that is true the property goes to the state (Escheat is the legal term) to the state.
What will likely happen is it will go up for tax sale. Title may transfer that way. Or it is possible that it is so derelict, that it gets no bids and taxes build up until the building falls down.
Oh is there a bank loan perhaps the bank will foreclose?
