Keeping in contact with Sellers during contract period

What communication/contact do you have with the seller during the contract period. I have not talked to them since we signed the contract.

I am supposed to go to closing on or before Aug 7th. Should I call them and told them I sold my interest to another investor, and we will be closing soon?

What do you all do?
