Motivated seller asking market value price

How do you guys suggest talking motivated sellers down off the ledge of wanting full asking price for current market value or are these essentially not motivated seller traits?

I agree with @James Stevens , make the offer and see what happens. However, you may benefit from a walk through with them, being sure to point out all the work that would be required to sell the property at "market value". If they have ever sold a home they should remember how time consuming and stressful the process is. That could work in your favor down the line.
