How do you know how much a house is worth? where do you look?
So you find a foreclosed house or whatever the case may be, and your going to get the contract where do you look to know how much the house is worth? So you can make sure your buying it under price and to be able to resale it to still make a profit.

@Account Closed sorry if I was unclear. I was not suggesting you hire an appraiser. I am suggesting that you have to approach determining value the same way an appraiser would. This is a VERY difficult task. Made more difficult in TX because of the non-disclosure. You're going to have to find an agent to help you get comps. You will probably have to compensate them in some way. Then, from those comps, you have to go through the adjustment process like an appraiser would. There's no short cut here that really works. This is a skill you have to learn to survive in this business.
Appraisals cost $300-500, so too expensive to do routinely.
