Thinking about starting my REI career with wholesale I'm in the New York City area, looking for tips on how to get started, and is there any hands on training.

Roberto,

Good on you to start rolling in REI.

I too live in NYC and have been evaluating an appropriate wholesale strategy to really develop my understanding of the market and network connections.

Through connecting with other local investors, researching trends, stats and market data and adding some common sense to the mix, I don't think NYC lends itself to a strong wholesale strategy.

On the other hand NJ is a different beast. Median price, middle-low inclome neighbourhoods, rent ot own ratios, cap rates, it speaks the wholesaling language.

From what I have seen, these cities lend themselves to this strategy. Some supporting info in the links.

Best of luck and keep me in the loop on your progress
