Is it common practice for a wholesaler to not provide an option period in the contract, which would allow time to take a contractor through the property to get a better analysis of the renovation costs if the house is still occupied?

We are looking to buy a house to flip. The tenants are still in the house. The wholesaler is discouraging us from bringing contractors through to get estimates because he says he doesn't want to bring a lot of strangers through the house and inconviencing the tenants. We need to get estimates for renovations though. Should we insist on bringing the contractors through?
