HELP!! POSSIBLE WHOLESALE SCAM!

Good Morning Bigger Pockets! Thank you for taking the time to read my first post!

I'm about to make a wholesale deal today with my partner and we're teaming with a professional wholesaler who has been doing this for 10+ years. We agreed that if he coached us and used his contract, that we would split the profit margins into thirds 33.33%. This was all agreed upon verbally over the phone. The questions that I have for the forum are , do you think we can get scammed on this deal? Should we have some sort of contract with this professional in order ensure everything happens accordingly on how we planned? Does anyone have suggestions on how we should go about on this deal? Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you have any questions for me about it please reach out to me. Have a wonderful day!
