Smarter Contact for SMS... Do ya'll enable the opt-out language?

Agnes Shin

Hey everyone,

Decided to move from Launch Control to Smarter Contact.

Mainly because Smarter Contact allows folks to send follow up SMS in 24 hours and can SMS in multiple markets.
(Launch Control allows you to send follow ups after 30 days and costs a bunch to get additional market phone number)

But wanted to ask anyone who has used Smarter Contact:

- If you disabled the opt-out msg for your SMS, did any of your messages get blocked by the carrier?
In Launch Control, we're not required to put the opt-out msg (not is Smarter Contact, it's an option). But in Smarter Contact, even though it's not required (if you're in the Elite or Enterprise Plans), they're strongly suggesting it and even have a report on "carrier block rate" percentage.

So... it makes me wonder if anyone who has disabled it, were a lot of your messages get blocked by the carriers?

- Do you disclose the company name on your msg template?
Reason to ask is because Launch Control requires you to put at least the company's abbreviation on the SMS template. It's not a big gripe but it is a preference not to disclose it. Just... unnecessary I think.

Even though it's already decided to move forward with Smarter Contact, it'd be great to hear others' experiences using Smarter Contact and to see if disabling the opt-out msg has been... detrimental or better. I imagine, the response rate will go down a ton if we have the opt-out msg.

Much appreciation to anyone responding to this post! Thank you!
