Best ways to market for your first deal on a restricted budget?

Hey everyone,

I have been actively searching for wholesale deals for the past 2 months now. I have done a lot of marketing, not to exclude bandit signs, YL, expired listing, and FSBO cold calls. I have gotten a lot of calls and managed to get 2 properties under contract, neither of which sold, due to not knowing my market and what buyers were looking for. This was a huge learning experience for me! Unfortunately I have come to a cross roads financially, I thought getting into wholesaling (I imagine like every other person) I was going to make 20k in my first month..and that simply was not the case! Either way I'm gonna finish this one whether it takes 5 year's or 2 months, I just have to count my blessing's and keep going. :)

My question is: Now that I am on a focused budget (like I should have been) I am looking to get the most bang for my buck. I have been seeing sights like Zbuyer.com that are relatively cheap compared to doing a YL campaign for $500.00 a month. The question is, is it effective? I also have a bunch of expired listing's that my realtor sent me, I got an awesome response on these, I figured sending 5 of these a day, handwritten would be a no brainier. Is there anything that you guys are doing that you think would be stupid not to do for relatively inexpensive? When you guys began what was your form of marketing, and did you have a tight budget to keep? Any thing will help.

Thank you !
