Public Records Searches in Michigan

Im new to the game.  Trying to search for public records such as tax.  The county Treasurer pointed me to a somewhat archaic type property search engine call basaonline .com They want $3 dollars per records search.   The meta data is horrible, its ugly and seems expensive.  But I guess its legit ?  Anyone familiar with this ?  Its in the Great State of Michigan.

That is such crap. Public records should be publicly accessible--thus the public record designation. If you are trying to build a list of some kind there are better resources for gathering that information. I like ListSource because they have a lot of customization. You can build an extremely customized list. I like Propstream for distressed data and you can look up individual addresses and get all the same information you would find in the tax records. Also I really like the program, Mapright, you can see parcels and lot lines and display the owner name of every home on a street. They have a free trial and then you have to pay but its definitely a worthwhile product to consider using.
