Should I use handwritten or pre-printed signs to market fot sellers?
I have created a website and FB fan page, just got my business cards, got an absentee list and awaiting my shipment of 129 yellow letters. I still have money for marketing and wondering (famous question) if handwritten signs truly work in finding motivated sellers or pre-printed ones. I've read and agreed that people may doubt if you can pay cash (or other people's cash) to buy their house if you have a handwritten sign. Please advise.

Sean,
What a delicious inquiry!! Marketing is just another word for "TESTING", I'm not trying to be a smartie pants >>> this really is the truth.
Different methods work better in some areas than others. I have spent a lifetime >>> decades of marketing different businesses. The one thing I have found is that the market---buyers or sellers will tell you what works the way you want it to.
I have crei friends that test different approaches with bandit signs, emails etc and are surprised by the results. Make it a GAME. Really, I'm not kidding here. See what works in your area. BUT stay with one method long enough to be able to document the results.
Market analysis is super important in your advertising/marketing. It is my favorite part of the crei game/business. (I make everything a game). Stick with something for 2-3 months and RECORD your results. Then if you aren't completely satisfied tweek just ONE part of the campaign. And record your results there too.
There isn't a magic lamp. We all figure it out as we go. In the beginning I wanted to join the "secret insiders club of knowing everything" and found that the club had disbanded due to uncertainty. lol
I have had some success in this wonderful industry and still learn something new every day. The fun for me now is trying new things and TESTING the results or enjoying the benefits of that which has proven itself to work well in my market.
Go, Have FUN, and tell us what you found out : > We at BP would love to know!
Huge success to you
