Texas Landlords against Squatters Rights

Posted

Dear Landlords, As an investor, my biggest asset is my property. I have invested my life savings in real estate to earn a living, save for retirement and build wealth for my family. I know most of us have heard horror stories and/or have personal experience about criminals and unsavory characters taking over vacant properties then claiming squatters rights to avert the authorities. Police won't help in most of these cases because it is considered a civil matter. Eviction process takes time and money. Not to mention the emotional toll it takes on a property owner and the aftermath of finally getting your property back then perform expensive repairs.

Florida has just passed a state law defending landlords against squatters! We need to let our politicians know that we want laws against squatters rights here in Texas. I am interested in joining forces with other landlords to send a message to our governor, senators and congressmen and women to let them know that we want our rights protected as property owners.  Thank you.
