My husband (high W2 Earner) and I have 16 doors that we self-manage. However, I have an opportunity to manage for a company 24 hours a week at a small apartment complex of 56 doors locally. My question being, if I asked to be a 1099 employee instead of a W2 employee, would i qualify as Reps for taxes since I self-manage and take care of all of our own rentals yearly? Also, would these hours count towards my 750 hours since i will be managing these properties?
