Furnishing a property out of state/long distance?

Hello!

I'm about to close on a 4 unit and I'm trying to furnish two of them as MTR's but I'm out of state. I wanted to ask if anyone's furnished a property remotely before - who helped you set up the furniture?

I've called staging companies but they're pricey. Would you reach out to a handyman and ask them to set everything up? Or a property manager you hire under the table?

Or should I fly out there and do it myself? Flights are $300-ish and it would certainly take up day of my time as well, I'm trying to set up a system NOW so that I won't need to do this myself in the future.

Thanks! Appreciate any and all help

Furnishing a place is tedious and time consuming. Any vendor that wants to do it will be expensive. If this is your first one, I think you have to get on a plane and go. I don't think that you are going to get everything done in a weekend. It's death by a thousand cuts...if you can, add a few days to that trip. It's very helpful to spend a night or two at the property after it has been furnished. It just gives you the chance to live in it and see what you forgot to purchase.
