House Hacking An Apartment

Is house hacking an single apartment unit a good first investment? I’ve noticed the price point to purchase an apartment is way cheaper than a sfh. The particular one I am looking at is a 2x2 townhouse style unit.

@Todd Dobbs this might be a little relative in nature.  Meaning, is that condo/townhouse the only thing you can afford?  If so...then it's the best option you have!  When I started out the home I could afford was $50,000.  That's it.  And there will be TONS of "naysayers" who always will tell you not to do something...because THEY won't do something.  And maybe they have options.  So, if you do have options, then compare a few.  If you don't, then go with what you can do.  I househacked that $50,000 house and have transformed it into over $3million in real estate.  Don't think because you only have small options that you can't go far with it - you absolutely can.

Hope all of that makes sense.
