House hacking with/without HOA

Hi,
I am looking to house hack my first property in DFW area. The area has many homes with HOA. Should I be avoiding HOA? Or does it matter?
My concern is that HOA might vote against me renting by rooms when I move out. And the rule might also change in the future. 

Also,Looking for suggestions to solve the parking situation with house hacking. How to park 5 cars with a standard 2 car garage without pissing off neighbors….I would imagine cars need to be parked behind each other but that would make it hard if the one parked inside want to get out…

Given the option, I'd go no HOA for the reasons you outlined. Some HOAs can be big sticklers about too many cars. There are just too many unknowns when dealing with HOAs.
