Best areas to househack in or close to Tampa

I live in Germany but will return to The States in the next year or two. I don’t know much about Tampa RE market but would love some information about it so my family and I can start a new life through house hacking. Thanks in advance!

Although I graduated from USF, I would highly recommend doing a house hack near UT over USF. UT is a private school and costs 40k+ a year. Much higher tuition levels and parents often co-sign their children’s leases near UT.

You will need to find a duplex / triplex or one of the many homes built with mother in law suites in Hyde park, Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights or West Tampa.

You and your family will be right smack in the middle of the city with good access to transportation, parks and libraries all while getting some potential well paying tenants.
